Actividad 5: Investigando lo pequeño

Con esta actividad se pretende que el alumnado conozca el microscopio, uno de los instrumentos científicos más notables de toda la historia de la ciencia. Para conseguirlo, se invita al alumnado a que lo utilice para “investigar” aquello que les pueda interesar, además de muestras preparadas (aparato bucal de una mariposa, cloroplastos de plantas, etc). Para ello, se trabaja las partes y el manejo del microscopio óptico convencional, así como el microscopio estereoscópico. También se profundiza en la teoría celular (todos los seres vivos están formados por una o más células) a través de la observación de tejido vivo (cebolla), cuya imagen plasman en su cuaderno.

Activity 5: Investigating the small

With this activity students get familiarized with the microscope, one of the most remarkable scientific instruments in science history.  To do so, students are invited to use it in order to «investigate» whatever they are interested in as well as prepared laboratory samples (the mouth of a butterfly, chloroplasts, etc.). To do this, the parts and management of the conventional optical microscope are addressed without forgetting the stereoscopic microscope. The activity also goes deeper into the cell theory (all living beings are formed by one or more cells) through the observation of living tissue (onion) whose image is copied out into their notebooks.
